April 4, Palapye to Nata, Botswana

Best motorcycle day yet! I was averaging 105 kmh, up 25 from day 1. Passing is getting a little easier, although the lane-splitting still feels just wrong.

We found another rustic yet elegant lodge in Nata, with the softest, crispest sheets on which I've ever slept. This was also our second night with mosquito nets, strangely comforting given all the dire warnings we've received about malaria. They feel like sleeping in those mega-secret blanket caves we made as kids. And we had our second outdoor shower. I could get used to this!

I didn't see any warthogs today, sigh. I've fallen in love with these very strange creatures, little pigs that kneel to eat, use their tusks to dig, back into porcupine holes, and raise their long, thin, tufted tails to run through the tall grass whenever danger comes near. Hope to see more of them soon.
